Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming primary school in East London seeking an experienced Nursery Manager to lead and support its nursery provision on a full-time temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Nurse or Early Years professional looking to take on additional responsibility within a supportive school environment. You'll play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and engaging setting where young children can thrive during the early stages of their development.

Role Summary

As Nursery Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the nursery provision while working closely with the wider Early Years team to deliver high-quality care and learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day running of the nursery provision.
  • Work closely with the EYFS teaching team and support staff.
  • Create a safe, stimulating and engaging learning environment.
  • Support children's learning and development through play-based experiences.
  • Help children develop their communication, social and independence skills.
  • Observe and monitor children's progress and development.
  • Support routines, transitions and personal care where required.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, welfare and inclusion.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a nursery or EYFS setting.
  • Experience supporting young children's learning and development.
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A nurturing, organised and proactive approach.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • A relevant Early Years or childcare qualification is highly desirable. QTS is not required.

Pay and Progression

£120-£130 per day, paid weekly via PAYE. Rates are determined by relevant nursery or Early Years experience, qualifications, leadership responsibilities and knowledge of the EYFS framework. The highest rate of £130 per day is typically available to candidates who can demonstrate substantial experience within nursery or Early Years settings, strong EYFS knowledge, experience supporting or leading nursery provision, and the ability to make an immediate positive impact within the setting.
