Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Liverpool, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, empathetic and committed to helping young people overcome challenges, develop confidence and engage positively with their education.
Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or have transferable experience in care, youth work, residential support, mentoring or working with vulnerable young people, we'd love to hear from you!
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Help pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour.
- Build trusting relationships and provide consistent encouragement.
- Support pupils to engage with lessons and classroom activities.
- Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Encourage pupils to develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
- Respond calmly to challenging situations, following school behaviour policies and individual support plans.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
- Is patient, understanding, reliable and resilient.
- Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is passionate about making a difference to young people's lives.
