English Teacher - Hounslow, London
A secondary school based in Hounslow, West London, is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced English Teacher to join their team from November 2026. The school requires a committed teacher with a minimum of two years' experience teaching English in a secondary school setting. The successful candidate will be confident teaching across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students' reading, writing, analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
- Develop students' reading comprehension, creative writing, analytical skills and understanding of language and literature.
- Prepare students for GCSE and post-16 examinations, supporting them in achieving their full academic potential.
- Create stimulating lessons that encourage critical thinking, independent learning and a love of English.
- Differentiate teaching effectively to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and adapt teaching strategies to improve outcomes.
- Maintain high standards of classroom management, behaviour and student engagement.
- Contribute positively to the English department and wider school community, promoting high expectations and a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications and Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A relevant degree in English or a related subject.

- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
- Experience preparing students for GCSE and post-16 assessments.
- Excellent classroom management and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
