Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Nottingham
Are you an experienced HLTA confident supporting pupils, delivering interventions and leading whole-class learning when required?
Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Nottingham and the surrounding areas.
Roles may involve PPA cover, short-term classroom cover, targeted interventions and supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
We are looking for full-time and part-time candidates, with short-term and long-term opportunities available.
Responsibilities
- Providing whole-class cover during PPA, meetings and teacher absence
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and maintaining established classroom routines
- Leading targeted interventions with individual pupils and small groups
- Supporting reading, writing and mathematics across the primary curriculum
- Adapting learning activities for pupils with additional needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and pupil engagement
- Working closely with teachers and senior leaders
- Providing feedback on pupil progress and learning
Requirements
- Previous experience working as an HLTA or experienced Teaching Assistant within a primary school
- Confidence leading whole classes independently
- An HLTA qualification is desirable, although experienced Teaching Assistants with significant whole-class cover experience will also be considered
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Good knowledge of the primary curriculum
- A flexible, reliable and proactive approach
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances where applicable and suitable professional references
- Comprehensive employment history covering the previous 10 years where possible
- Right to work in the UK
