We are currently recruiting for a School Administrator to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Daventry, with an immediate start available. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator looking to secure a long-term position within education, with the potential for a permanent appointment.


Role Overview


As a School Administrator, you will be an important part of the school's administrative team, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. You will regularly liaise with students, parents, staff, and visitors, acting as a professional and approachable first point of contact.


Key Responsibilities



  • Managing reception and front office duties, including welcoming visitors and answering telephone enquiries

  • Responding to emails and general enquiries from parents, students, and staff

  • Maintaining accurate pupil records and supporting attendance administration

  • Completing data entry and updating school databases and management systems

  • Supporting admissions, transfers, correspondence, and general school administration

  • Preparing documents, letters, reports, and other school communications

  • Using school management systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or similar platforms

  • Supporting meetings, appointments, timetables, and administrative arrangements

  • Maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive pupil, family, and staff information

  • Supporting safeguarding procedures and following school policies and processes

  • Providing general administrative assistance to teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders


Ideal Candidate



  • Previous experience in an administrative or school office role

  • Secondary school experience is desirable but not essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Professional, friendly, and confident when dealing with students, parents, and staff

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Confident using Microsoft Office, email, and administrative systems

  • Able to prioritise tasks and remain calm in a busy school environment

  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team

  • Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality within an educational setting

  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one
