Are you a confident, enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisor looking for flexible work in secondary schools?
We are working with a number of secondary schools across Waltham Forest that are looking for reliable, confident and experienced Cover Supervisors to provide daily supply cover.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people, have strong classroom management skills and are looking for flexible work that fits around their availability.
Whether you are looking for full-time daily supply, a few days per week or occasional bookings, we would love to hear from you!
The successful candidates will supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher and ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their learning.
The Role
- Supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular teacher
- Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring students complete the work set
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Supporting students with their learning and answering general questions
- Encouraging students to remain focused, engaged and motivated
- Following school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management
- Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons
- Working across a variety of subjects and year groups
- Building positive relationships with students and school staff
- Adapting confidently to different school environments and classroom settings
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school
- Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor or in a similar school-based role would be advantageous
- Confident managing groups of secondary-aged students
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Calm, resilient and able to manage challenging behaviour
- Flexible, reliable and adaptable to different school environments
- Able to follow lesson plans and school procedures effectively
- A positive and proactive approach to supporting young people
- Passionate about education and helping students achieve their potential
- Graduates considering a career in teaching are also encouraged to apply
