Cover Supervisor - Daily Supply

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Hounslow on a daily supply basis.

This is a great opportunity if you are looking for flexible work, want to gain further experience within secondary education, or enjoy working with young people without the commitment of a long-term placement.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom when the regular teacher is absent and supervise students while they complete pre-prepared lessons and activities.

You will be responsible for:

• Supervising whole classes across a range of subjects
• Following lesson plans and instructions provided by teaching staff
• Ensuring students remain focused, engaged and on task
• Managing classroom behaviour confidently and consistently
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate
• Taking and recording attendance
• Reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate member of staff
• Maintaining a safe, positive and respectful learning environment

You will not be expected to plan or mark lessons, but you will need to be confident leading a classroom independently.

Essential Requirements

We are looking for reliable and confident candidates who:

• Have experience working with secondary-aged children or young people
• Are confident managing a classroom
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Can follow instructions and deliver pre-prepared work effectively
• Are reliable, punctual and professional
• Can adapt quickly to different schools and classroom environments
• Have a genuine interest in supporting young people's education

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Behaviour Mentor or in a similar role would be beneficial.

Essential Documents / Eligibility

To be eligible to work in schools through Tradewind Recruitment, you will need to provide the relevant safeguarding and recruitment documentation, including:

• An up-to-date CV
• Proof of Right to Work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS certificate suitable for working with children, or willingness to obtain one
• Two suitable professional references
• Relevant identification documents
• Evidence of relevant qualifications or training where applicable
• Any required safeguarding documentation or training
