About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a Barnet primary school to find a confident Year 4 Teacher for October 2026, available on a full-time or part-time basis.

In Year 4, pupils continue to build on their learning across the KS2 National Curriculum, developing their knowledge, independence and confidence across the curriculum. You will deliver engaging and challenging lessons, with a particular focus on reading, writing, mathematics and preparing pupils for the transition into upper Key Stage 2.

You will use assessment and pupil data to personalise learning, support pupils with SEND and EAL, and help children develop the independence, resilience and confidence they need for their next stage of education.

What we are looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • KS2 teaching experience, ideally within Year 4
  • Strong subject knowledge across the KS2 curriculum
  • Confident in differentiation for SEND, EAL and mixed-ability groups
  • Good use of formative and summative assessment to drive pupil progress
  • Strong classroom management
  • Up-to-date safeguarding knowledge
