Are you a compassionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children with complex needs?
Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a unique specialist provision based within a gym environment.
This exciting opportunity involves providing 1:1 support to EYFS and primary-aged pupils with complex additional needs, helping them access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence through tailored educational and physical activities.
The setting offers a highly personalised approach, combining therapeutic, sensory, and movement-based activities to support each child's individual development. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who thrives in a practical, hands‑on environment.
The Role:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with complex needs
- Supporting learning through play, sensory activities, and movement-based experiences
- Encouraging communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
- Promoting a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
- Assisting with personal care where required
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting children with SEN, complex needs, ASC, or developmental delays
- A patient, resilient, and caring approach
- Confidence building positive relationships with children and families
- Ability to adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
- Team Teach, manual handling, or personal care experience is beneficial but not essential
