We are currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced SENDCo to join a welcoming and inclusive school based in Handsworth.This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic SEND professional to join a 'GOOD' Ofsted-rated school that is committed to ensuring every pupil receives the support and opportunities they need to thrive.The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and developing the school's SEND provision, working closely with pupils, staff, parents/carers and external professionals.
The Role
- Lead and manage the day-to-day SEND provision across the school
- Support staff in identifying and meeting the needs of pupils with SEND
- Oversee and monitor EHCPs, SEND support plans and relevant documentation
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents/carers and external agencies
- Ensure the school remains compliant with SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified SENDCo with relevant experience in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Excellent understanding of SEND provision and safeguarding
- Strong organisational and communication skill
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
