Are you a creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity in a supportive secondary school?
We are working with a secondary school in Redbridge that is looking for a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis to cover a maternity leave, starting towards the end of November or December 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an enthusiastic ECT who is passionate about Art and enjoys inspiring young people to develop their creativity, confidence and artistic skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to explore different artistic techniques and achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Teaching Art to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Planning and delivering creative, engaging and well-structured lessons
- Encouraging students to develop their artistic skills, imagination and confidence
- Teaching a range of artistic techniques, materials and creative processes
- Preparing students for GCSE Art and Design assessments and coursework
- Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress
- Creating a positive, inclusive and inspiring classroom environment
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting high expectations
- Working collaboratively with the Art department and wider teaching team
- Contributing to the wider school community and supporting students' creative development
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Art at secondary level, particularly KS3 and KS4
- A strong understanding of the Art curriculum and GCSE requirements
- Creative, enthusiastic and passionate about teaching Art
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that inspire and motivate students
- Confident assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
- A positive, flexible and proactive approach to teaching
- Experienced teachers and ECTs are welcome to apply
