1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Islington Agency: Tradewind Recruitment
Location: Islington, North London
Contract: Temporary
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day, including lessons, outdoor activities, meals and school transitions.
- Support the pupil to access learning and participate fully in school life.
- Support the implementation of relevant aspects of the pupil's EHCP.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to implement strategies that support learning, communication and inclusion.
- Build a positive, trusting and professional relationship with the pupil.
- Promote the pupil's wellbeing, independence and development.
- Communicate appropriately with school staff and, where required, the pupil's family to help ensure consistent support.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a primary school setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- A patient, empathetic and supportive approach.
- An understanding of child development and the importance of individualised support.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion, wellbeing and positive learning experiences.
