Higher Level Teaching Assistant opportunity in a primary school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, supporting classroom teaching, targeted interventions and pupil development across the primary age range.
This position would suit an experienced teaching assistant who is ready to take on greater classroom responsibility without moving into a full teaching role. Working alongside class teachers, you will provide structured support across lessons and may lead planned activities, interventions and small-group sessions.
The role includes:
- Supporting teachers with day-to-day classroom delivery
- Leading small-group learning and intervention sessions
- Providing cover for lessons when required
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
- Reinforcing behaviour and classroom expectations
- Monitoring pupil engagement and feeding back to teaching staff
- Helping prepare resources and learning activities
Applicants should have strong experience working within a primary school and be confident supporting pupils across different year groups. A relevant Level 4 qualification or recognised HLTA status would be advantageous, alongside experience leading interventions or covering lessons independently.
