Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within the SEN department of a mainstream secondary school in the Lancaster area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
Location: Lancaster
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until Christmas
Setting: Mainstream Secondary School - SEN Department
Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with additional needs.
- Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
- Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to implement individual support strategies.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Encourage student engagement, independence and confidence.
- Support classroom activities and help manage behaviour positively.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEN (desirable).
- Is patient, caring, resilient and adaptable.
- Has strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Is passionate about inclusive education and supporting students with additional needs.
- Can build positive relationships with students and staff.
