Are you a confident KS1 Teacher with strong SEN experience looking for your next opportunity in St Albans? A welcoming primary school is seeking a committed Year 1 Teacher to join its team as soon as possible.
This is a full-time, long-term temporary position running until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of a permanent appointment for the right candidate.
You will be joining a small Year 1 class supported by two Teaching Assistants , giving you additional classroom support to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and make progress.
The Role
Take responsibility for planning, delivering and assessing learning across Year 1.
Adapt lessons to meet a range of abilities and additional learning needs.
Work closely with two supportive TAs to provide an inclusive classroom experience.
Establish clear routines, positive relationships and high expectations.
Deliver engaging KS1 lessons, including effective phonics teaching.
Create a calm, structured environment where pupils feel supported and ready to learn.

You will need:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Recent Year 1 or KS1 teaching experience.
Essential: Previous experience supporting children with SEN.
A sound understanding of the KS1 curriculum and Year 1 phonics.
Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation.
The ability to differentiate learning and respond confidently to individual needs.
A collaborative approach to working with TAs, colleagues and school leadership.
