Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Southend-on-Sea from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced primary teacher or an Early Career Teacher looking to join a supportive school where high-quality teaching, strong relationships and pupil development are at the heart of everything they do.

The Role

As the Year 1 Class Teacher, you will take responsibility for creating an engaging, well-structured and inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum

• Creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment

• Supporting pupils as they transition from the Early Years into Key Stage 1

• Differentiating learning to meet a range of abilities and needs

• Monitoring pupil progress and using assessment effectively

• Developing positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

• Promoting positive behaviour and high expectations

• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the school

• Contributing to the wider life of the school and its community

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a teacher who is enthusiastic, organised and passionate about primary education, with a genuine commitment to helping children develop a love of learning.

You will ideally have:

• QTS or recognised UK teaching qualification

• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1

• A good understanding of the Year 1 curriculum

• Strong classroom management skills

• The ability to plan engaging and appropriately challenging lessons

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A nurturing and inclusive approach to supporting pupils
