- Maths Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in
Sheffield on a two-week paternity cover .
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maths Teacher to join a supportive school and provide high-quality teaching across the secondary age range, including
Key Stage 5 .
The Role
As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across
KS3, KS4 and KS5 , ensuring that students continue to make strong progress during the period of cover.
Key responsibilities include
- Planning and delivering high-quality Maths lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
- Following and adapting existing schemes of work and lesson plans where appropriate.
- Teaching engaging, challenging and differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
- Maintaining high expectations of student behaviour, achievement and progress.
- Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback.
- Supporting students in preparation for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and expectations.
- Working collaboratively with the Maths department and wider school staff.
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and attainment where required.
- Ensuring a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school.
- Experience teaching up to
KS5/A-Level Maths .
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging Maths lessons.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.
- The ability to quickly establish positive relationships with students and staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability when working within a short-term cover placement.
- A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind Education.
