Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting SEND and SEMH Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming mainstream and specialist schools throughout Oldbury.
We have opportunities available for experienced Teaching Assistants, as well as individuals with relevant transferable experience who are looking to develop their careers within education and SEND.
You will play an important role in supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) , including Autism (ASC/ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, learning difficulties and complex needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help young people overcome barriers to learning, develop their confidence and independence, and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups or within the classroom , depending on the needs of the school and individual learners.
Your responsibilities may include:
Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, MLD, SLD, PMLD and complex learning needs
Helping children access learning and engage positively within the classroom
Supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour and social development
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral support teams
Following individual learning plans, EHCPs and behaviour support strategies
Supporting pupils with communication, sensory and additional learning needs
Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Helping pupils build confidence, independence and essential life skills
