Are you passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs? We are working with a welcoming primary school that is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching & Learning Assistant to join their team within a specialist SEMH provision.
About the Role:
This role is based within an internal resource base designed to support pupils with SEMH needs. You will play a vital role in helping students manage behaviour, engage in learning, and develop positive coping strategies in a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist in managing behaviour and implementing intervention strategies
- Support learning within a small, specialist provision
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement and progress
- Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to deliver tailored support plans
- Help create a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Strong behaviour management skills and resilience
- Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Ability to build rapport and act as a positive role model
- Team player with good communication skills
