Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity in a supportive secondary school? We are currently working with a secondary school in Newham that is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students with additional needs and wants to make a real difference to their education and development.

The Role

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN
  • Supporting students to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons
  • Working closely with teachers and the school's SEN team
  • Supporting students with their social, emotional and academic development
  • Helping students develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
  • Adapting support to meet individual students' needs
  • Assisting with classroom activities and learning resources
  • Maintaining positive relationships with students, staff and parents/carers

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable
  • Patient, calm and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to build positive relationships with students
  • Confident supporting students with a range of additional needs
  • Resilient, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
