SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be recruiting a passionate and nurturing Reception Teacher for a welcoming primary school in Southwark. This full-time maternity cover position will begin in mid-November and offers an exciting opportunity to join a supportive Early Years team dedicated to providing children with an outstanding start to their education.

Role Summary

The successful Reception Teacher will take responsibility for a well-established Reception class, delivering high-quality Early Years provision and fostering a love of learning during this crucial stage of development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging EYFS lessons in line with the Early Years Framework
  • Create a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment
  • Support children's academic, social and emotional development
  • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider Early Years team
  • Promote positive behaviour and high expectations for all learners

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within EYFS, ideally Reception
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Framework
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Pay and Progression

This role is paid on the M1-M6 Inner London Teacher Pay Scale. As with all teaching positions, pay is determined using the national teacher pay scale. Teachers at the upper end of the advertised range will typically demonstrate strong EYFS experience, excellent teaching practice, a proven track record of pupil progress and the ability to contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
