The Role
As a Premises Assistant, you will support the smooth day-to-day running and maintenance of the school site. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs around the school
- Ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe, secure and well maintained
- Supporting with opening and closing the school premises
- Moving furniture and equipment when required
- Assisting with deliveries and contractors
- Carrying out health and safety checks
- Maintaining outdoor areas and playgrounds
- Reporting maintenance issues and supporting the Site Manager where needed
- Helping to ensure the school provides a welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who is:
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
Practical and confident carrying out general maintenance tasks
Proactive, organised and able to work independently
Friendly and approachable with a professional manner
Committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety
Ideally experienced in a school, public-sector or similar premises/maintenance environment
Previous school experience is desirable but not essential.
