An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Officer to join a welcoming and supportive school based in Lewisham. We are looking for a highly organised and knowledgeable finance professional with previous experience working within a finance environment, ideally within a school or education setting. A degree or relevant financial qualification is preferred, alongside strong knowledge of financial processes and procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the school
- Processing invoices, payments, purchase orders and financial transactions
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting reconciliations
- Assisting with budgets, monitoring expenditure and financial reporting
- Liaising with suppliers, staff and external stakeholders
- Ensuring financial procedures and relevant policies are followed
- Providing general administrative support to the finance function
About You
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer or similar finance role
- Strong knowledge of financial processes and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confident working with financial systems and spreadsheets
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
- A degree or relevant financial qualification is desirable
