Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting pupils with Autism in a dedicated ARP within a mainstream primary school? Tradewind Recruitment are currently working with a large primary school in Hayes, Hillingdon, who are looking for a passionate and experienced SEN TA/LSA to join their specialist ASD provision. The school has a dedicated 24-place SEN ARP supporting pupils with Autism, providing a structured, nurturing environment where pupils can develop their communication, independence and learning skills.
The Role
- As an SEN TA within the ARP, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team to provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs.
- Supporting pupils with Autism/ASD on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
- Supporting communication, interaction and social development.
- Helping pupils manage sensory needs and emotional regulation.
- Using visual supports and communication strategies.
- Supporting learning both within the ARP and, where appropriate, mainstream classrooms.
- Helping pupils develop independence and confidence.
- Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals.
- Providing a calm, consistent and nurturing approach throughout the school day.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children with ASD/SEND.
- Has worked as an SEN TA, LSA, Teaching Assistant or similar.
- Is patient, nurturing and consistent.
- Understands the importance of communication and relationship-building.
- Can confidently support pupils with a range of needs.
- Is keen to develop their SEN experience within a specialist ARP.
Team Teach, Makaton, PECS or other relevant SEND experience would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
