Are you an enthusiastic and confident individual looking to gain valuable experience working in a secondary school? We're looking for reliable and motivated Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Harrow on a day-to-day basis. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates and individuals with experience in education, youth work, tutoring, coaching or classroom support who are looking to develop their experience within a school environment.
What You'll Do
- Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher
- Deliver pre-set lessons and ensure students remain focused on their work
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
- Support students with their learning and answer questions where appropriate
- Follow school policies and procedures
- Ensure students complete the work provided by the class teacher
- Monitor attendance and maintain accurate classroom records
- Deal confidently and calmly with low-level behaviour issues
- Build positive and professional relationships with students and staff
- Provide feedback to teaching and pastoral staff where required
What We're Looking For
- Confident, reliable and approachable
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ideally educated to degree level and/or have experience working with young people
- Experience in a school, education, tutoring, youth work, coaching or similar environment is desirable
- Able to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
- Organised, adaptable and able to follow lesson plans
- Comfortable working across different year groups and subjects
- Passionate about supporting young people and maintaining high standards of behaviour
- Available for day-to-day work across Harrow
