The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons that develop students' understanding of the physical and human world.
- Teach geographical concepts across relevant key stages, including physical geography, human geography, environmental issues and global development.
- Inspire students to develop their geographical knowledge, analytical thinking and enquiry skills.
- Encourage students to explore key geographical issues, interpret data, analyse maps and understand the relationship between people and their environments.
- Incorporate practical activities, case studies and fieldwork opportunities to enhance students' learning experiences.
- Monitor student progress, assess learning and implement strategies to support academic achievement.
- Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and classroom management.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement and wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised equivalent, where applicable.
- Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Geography.
- Demonstrates effective classroom management and inclusive teaching practices.
- Can deliver engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Has the ability to make geographical concepts relevant, accessible and interesting through real-world examples and case studies.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
