The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons that develop students' understanding of computing, programming and digital technologies.
- Teach key concepts across relevant key stages, including programming, algorithms, computational thinking, computer systems and data representation.
- Inspire students to develop their problem-solving, logical reasoning and computational skills.
- Introduce students to programming languages and practical computing applications, adapting lessons to suit different abilities and learning needs.
- Monitor student progress, assess learning and implement strategies to support academic achievement.
- Maintain high standards of teaching, learning and classroom management.
- Encourage creativity, independent thinking and the responsible use of technology.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement and wellbeing.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised equivalent, where applicable.
- Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Computer Science and digital technologies.
- Demonstrates effective classroom management and inclusive teaching practices.
- Can deliver engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students of varying abilities.
- Has the ability to explain complex computing concepts clearly and make programming accessible to learners.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
