About the Role
Are you an experienced and nurturing Qualified Nursery Nurse looking to make a meaningful difference in specialised early years education?
We are recruiting a dedicated Early Years practitioner to join a welcoming and specialist Alternative Provision (AP) based in Clitheroe. In this role, you will support young children with diverse emotional, social, and developmental needs, providing tailored interventions in a calm, structured, and stimulating setting.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver tailored early years learning activities aligned with the EYFS framework, adapted for specialist provision.

Support children with complex needs, developmental delays, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements.

Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.

Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and multi-disciplinary teams.

Observe, assess, and document individual progress, contributing to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised learning goals.

Maintain rigorous safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety standards at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications

Qualification: Level 3 CACHE / NVQ in Childcare / Early Years Education (or equivalent / higher).

Experience: Proven experience working within an Early Years setting; prior experience in SEND, SEMH, or an Alternative Provision (AP) / PRU setting is highly advantageous.

Skills: Strong understanding of early childhood development, trauma-informed approaches, and positive behaviour support (e.g., Team-Teach is desirable).

Compliance: Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

Location: Commutable to Clitheroe, Lancashire.
