Tradewind Recruitment is working with a specialist SEN school in Chorley seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASD).
The Role

Provide tailored learning, behavioural, and sensory support for pupils with SLD and Autism.

Work 1:1 or in small groups to promote independence, positive communication, and emotional wellbeing.

Support structured learning routines, therapy programmes, and use communication aids such as Makaton or PECS.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and specialist support staff.
About You
-
Experience in care, support work, or SEN education (specifically with SLD or Autism preferred).

Compassionate, reliable, and resilient with a calm, nurturing approach to managing behaviour.

Comfortable assisting with personal care and daily routines where necessary.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
