Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant | BL4, Bolton
Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming primary school in the BL4 area of Bolton who are seeking a calm, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide additional support to pupils who may experience behavioural, emotional or social barriers to learning.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and helping them develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards school.
The role will involve:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils with behaviour and emotional regulation
- Helping children remain focused and engaged
- Encouraging positive choices and behaviour
- Supporting pupils during classroom activities
- Working alongside teachers and support staff
- Helping children develop social and emotional skills
- Reinforcing classroom routines and expectations
- Supporting learning and inclusion across the school
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant, Education, Childcare, Youth Work or similar qualification OR
- Have at least 6 months' experience working with children in the UK, professionally or voluntarily
- Be calm, patient and consistent
- Have experience or a strong interest in behaviour support
- Be able to build trusting relationships with children
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be committed to safeguarding
