A forward-thinking Alternative Provision in Blackpool is seeking a resilient, empathetic, and proactive Unqualified Teacher for a high-impact 1:1 teaching and intervention role. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity starting immediately, designed for an educator, cover supervisor, or experienced youth worker who excels at building rapport with vulnerable learners and re-engaging pupils outside mainstream education.

The Role

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 learning sessions, functional skills, and core curriculum support to a pupil disengaged from mainstream schooling.
  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that match the pupil's pace, interests, and individual learning goals.
  • Implement positive behaviour management techniques and proactive de-escalation strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, pastoral team, and external multi-agency services to monitor wellbeing and academic progress.
  • Create a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment to rebuild the pupil's confidence and engagement.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering instruction, cover supervision, tuition, or structured 1:1 youth mentoring.
  • Strong background supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ASC, ADHD, or challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to deliver core subjects (English, Maths, and digital literacy) up to KS3/KS4 level without formal QTS.
  • Exceptional patience, emotional resilience, and de-escalation skills.
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to process one immediately).
  • Full right to work in the UK and satisfactory professional references covering the last 2 years.
