Tradewind Recruitment is working alongside a dedicated Primary Alternative Provision in the Blackpool area to find an empathetic and driven Pastoral Support Worker. This specialist setting caters to primary-aged children (Key Stages 1 and 2) who have been excluded from mainstream education or require targeted Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support.

The Role
In this vital pastoral role, you will work closely with primary school-aged pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis. Many of these young learners experience early childhood trauma, anxiety, or behavioural challenges.
Your goal is to act as an anchor and positive mentor, helping children regulate their emotions, build social skills, and safely reintegrate into engaging learning activities.
Key Responsibilities
Pastoral Care & Mentoring: Provide daily emotional support, check-ins, and mentoring to vulnerable primary pupils.
Behavior Management: Utilise positive behaviour support strategies, de-escalation techniques, and therapeutic approaches tailored to young children.
Engagement & Activity Support: Assist teaching staff in delivering alternative, creative, and life-skills-based primary curriculum.
Safeguarding: Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in line with school policies and statutory guidelines (KCSIE).
