Year 5 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Birkenhead
Location: Birkenhead, Wirral
Start Date: Monday 28th September 2026
Contract: Full-time, until July 2027
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Pay: £92.56 - £100.00 per day (depending on qualifications & experience)
Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil in a welcoming primary school in Birkenhead.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access learning, manage their emotions and develop greater independence.
The role will involve:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil
- Supporting access to the curriculum
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo
- Supporting the pupil during lessons, break and lunchtime
- Helping develop confidence and independence
Previous experience supporting children with SEND is desirable, although candidates with strong transferable childcare experience will also be considered.
This role runs from September 2026 until July 2027, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a stable, long-term position.
