Are you a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young children during the early stages of their education?
We are working with a welcoming primary school in Nelson that is looking to appoint a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to support a child joining Reception in September.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's transition into school while working as part of a supportive Early Years team.
The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child starting Reception in September.
- Support the child's communication, language, and social development throughout the school day.
- Deliver and reinforce phonics activities to support early reading skills.
- Encourage learning through play, helping to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals to support the child's individual needs.
- Observe and record progress, contributing to planning and review meetings where appropriate.
- The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will
- Have previous experience working within an EYFS setting.
- Have experience supporting children with speech and language needs.
- Be confident delivering and supporting phonics interventions.
- Understand the importance of play-based learning and child-led development within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Be patient, nurturing, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
