About the role
Tradewind Recruitment is working with Barnet primary schools to find a confident Year 6 Teacher for September 2026, available on a full-time or part-time basis. In Year 6, pupils prepare for the transition to secondary school while completing their final year of the KS2 National Curriculum. You will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across the curriculum, with a particular focus on SATs preparation, reading, writing and mathematical reasoning. You will use assessment and pupil data to personalise learning, support pupils with SEND and EAL, and help children develop the independence, resilience and confidence they need for their next stage of education.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- KS2 teaching experience, ideally within Year 6
- Experience preparing pupils for KS2 SATs
- Strong subject knowledge across the KS2 curriculum
- Confident in differentiation for SEND, EAL and mixed-ability groups
- Good use of formative and summative assessment to drive pupil progress
- Strong classroom management and the ability to prepare pupils for the transition to secondary school
- Up-to-date safeguarding knowledge
