The Application Support role at Tradeweb is a pivotal role that supports the Institutional Fixed Income Electronic Trading Platform within Technical Operations to ensure that clients, dealers and internal Tradeweb teams have a seamless one touch customer experience. Working as part of a global team, the team in London are exposed to incidents and problems that could be raised in Tokyo, London and the US. The role gives you the opportunity to be part of a dynamic high performing team and also to be in the forefront of cutting-edge electronic trading technology.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure high levels of availability in the production and UAT environments by proactively identifying and resolving issues raised in a timely manner.
- Application monitoring using Coralogix, PagerDuty and other internal monitoring tools.
- Ownership of Application layer of the system across environments, including weekend maintenance and Bank holidays.
- Annual Disaster Recovery testing and BCP planning.
- Trading system Configuration management across Production and UAT environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to dive deep into analysing application logs, code base, OS and Network to provide root cause analysis of problems and workarounds.
- Ability to take ownership and become subject matter experts in various parts of the system.
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Liaise with multiple internal teams across Tradeweb and occasionally external clients by building strong working relationships.
- Champion automation of repetitive tasks as well as identifying potential areas of automation/process improvement.
- Proactively assign, manage and prioritize relevant support tickets on the ticketing queue using ServiceNow.
- Support Project Go lives working as a liaison between the product and technology teams from a technical perspective.
- Development of scripts, SQL and application changes.
- Proactively document gained knowledge in Confluence to help train 1st-2nd line of support.
- Work to a flexible work schedule which also includes weekend and evening duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in a computing degree or engineering degree or similar is beneficial.
- Experienced in developer/engineer/3rd line support roles within Financial sector.
- Experience of working in a pressure environment preferably Front office application support and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Excellent problem solving, planning and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to think and act clearly under pressure.
- Extensive experience of managing client queries and problems.
- Working on a n-tier architecture and complex systems.
- Understanding of Infrastructure/Server components.
- Strong communications skills with a demonstrable ability to interact and influence at all levels within the organization.
- Detailed knowledge of scripting languages: PowerShell, Perl, Python, Bash, Command Shell.
- Solid experience of OOPs language (preferred C++ or Java).
- Experience using AI tools to support technical troubleshooting, incident management, and development is desirable.
- Great experience working with relational and non-relational databases. Querying, scripting experience with SQL server 2019 and MongoDB preferred.
- Experience with Coralogix, Kubernetes, Grafana is beneficial.
- Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows and Linux Servers administration.
- Solid knowledge of Networks, ability to troubleshoot Application, OS and Network layer, including web traffic.
- Experience with production environment deployments intraday or COB, strong GIT knowledge.
- Experience of managing, owning and delivering high quality projects to objectives and within time scales.
- Good working knowledge of application integration, testing and working with APIs.
- Solid FIX API experience.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Hands-on approach with ability to deliver to commitments.
- Strong customer service focus with a desire to deliver a high quality service.
