Group Details

Tradeweb is seeking a motivated and execution-focused Vice President to join its second-line Operational Risk Management function.

Operating under the direction and guidance of the Head of Business Risk & Incident Management, this role will oversee and challenge the management of operational risk across key business processes, trading workflows, and supporting technology.

The role will have a significant focus on incident management, serving as a key liaison between Operational Risk, Technology, Product, and business teams to obtain timely and accurate information, assess impact, support effective escalation, and drive incidents through root cause analysis and remediation.

The individual will also support the broader operational risk framework, including risk identification, control oversight, issue management, operational resilience, and risk reporting.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee the application of the operational risk framework across business and technology processes, including risk identification, risk assessments, control testing, issue management and metrics and reporting.
  • Lead the coordination and oversight of operational incidents, working closely with Technology, Product, and business stakeholders to gather timely and accurate information, assess business impact, support appropriate classification, and translate technical information into clear updates for senior management and governance forums.
  • Conduct risk assessments and deep dives, to identify and address root causes and ensure that underlying control weaknesses are identified and addressed.
  • Draft, maintain, and enhance operational risk policies, procedures, and control documentation to support effective governance, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and report on operational risk exposures, incidents, key risk indicators, control performance, emerging risks, and overdue remediation activities.
  • Partner with business, Product, Technology, Operations, and control owners to strengthen risk awareness, control ownership, and alignment with the firm’s operational risk framework.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in operational risk, risk assessment, incident management, business controls, or a related risk discipline, ideally within a Fin Tech or regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk management frameworks and their core components, including risk and control identification, control assessment, issue management, incident management, remediation oversight, risk acceptance, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating operational or technology incidents, including impact assessment, escalation, root cause analysis, remediation, and senior management reporting.
  • Ability to obtain and challenge information from Technology, Product, and business stakeholders and translate complex technical issues into clear business and risk terms.
  • Working knowledge of trade processing workflows and the operational risks associated with trading technology and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and industry frameworks, such as Mi FID II, DORA, and NIST, related to operational resilience and technology risk in EU and UK financial markets.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence across business and technical functions and coordinate effectively under time pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word; experience using GRC platforms, such as Archer, and data visualization or reporting tools, such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Professional certifications, such as CRISC, CISA, or PMP, are preferred.
