Are you an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a well-established main contractor based in Hull, is seeking a dedicated QS to join their growing commercial team. Specialising in new build, commercial refurbishment, and modular build projects, they offer a diverse and exciting workload with strong career progression opportunities.

The Role

You will work closely with the project and commercial teams to support the successful delivery of a range of construction schemes. This role would suit either:

  • An Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step up, or
  • An Intermediate QS looking for new challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans
  • Measuring, valuing, and negotiating subcontractor packages
  • Preparing tender documentation and assisting with procurement
  • Monitoring project costs, variations, and contractual obligations
  • Supporting senior commercial staff and ensuring projects remain within financial targets
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams

About You

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working alongside a main contractor
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, commercial management, and contract administration
  • Knowledge of modular construction is advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Ambitious, proactive, and eager to progress within a supportive team
