We are currently seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to join our team on major civil engineering projects based in Plymouth. This is a site-based role requiring strong leadership, planning, and health & safety expertise to ensure the efficient coordination of all logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive site logistics plans to manage deliveries, traffic flow, storage areas, and waste removal efficiently.
- Plan and coordinate the movement of materials, equipment, and personnel across the construction site.
- Oversee logistics-related health & safety compliance, including vehicle movements, site access, and pedestrian segregation.
- Lead and manage the logistics team, ensuring effective resource allocation and alignment with project schedules.
- Ensure all vehicle movements, crane operations, and material handling activities comply with CDM Regulations and relevant safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, delivery performance, and site constraints.
- Lead daily logistics briefings and toolbox talks, promoting a strong safety-first culture among teams and suppliers.
Requirements
- Valid SC Clearance (or eligibility to obtain it).
- Must be a UK resident.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Demonstrable experience working on high-profile or large-scale construction/civil engineering projects.
- Proven experience in a logistics management role within civil engineering or major construction environments.
- Strong understanding of construction site logistics, traffic management, and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work full‑time on site in Plymouth.
