Project Overview
The project involves the installation of approximately 2,000 metres of 355mm rising main, routed across open fields and through urban highway environments. The scope includes the installation of washouts, air valves, and MIECA components, with additional works to be completed within existing STW treatment facilities.
Candidate Capabilities
The candidate must be competent in the following areas:
- Preparation of high-quality Construction Phase Plans (CPPs), RAMS, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Safe Operating Systems of Work (SOSB), Task Briefing Tools (TBTs), and project programmes.
- Delivering clear and effective briefings to site teams based on the above documentation.
- Participating in and successfully completing regular safety audits with SHEQ teams and the STW Health & Safety Department.
- Ability to commute to and from site within one hour.
Qualifications & Certifications
Essential Requirements:
- Strong engineering background, preferably HNC / HND in Civil Engineering.
- CSCS Black Card (NVQ Level 6).
- SMSTS - 5 Day Course.
- First Aid - Full 3-Day Course.
- NRSWA Supervisor.
Desirable / Advantageous:
- Temporary Works Co-ordinator.
- Confined Space Training.
- Lifting Appointed Person.
- Practicable Environmental Management.
Roles and Responsibilities
The role will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Planning, programming, and allocation of resources.
- Preparation, monitoring, and control of contract budgets and target programmes.
- Site cost management and financial control.
- Delivery of construction works in accordance with specified quality standards.
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental regulations and best practices.
- Adherence to all contractual requirements and particulars.
- Management and coordination of site personnel, subcontractors, and operatives.
- Regular liaison with the Engineer's Representative, Project Manager, or Supervisor.
- Efficient use and optimisation of resources.
- Maintaining detailed project records and ensuring proper archiving.
- Oversight of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes.
- Managing inspection, testing, commissioning, and final handover activities.
