Freelance Site Manager – TWC & 278 Works
Contract Details:
- Freelance / Contract Role
- £350 per day
- 12-month contract
- CIS or Ltd Company payment available

- Based in St Annes
We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee Temporary Works Coordination (TWC) and Section 278 highway works on a busy construction project in St Annes.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day site operations safely and efficiently
- Coordinate and supervise all Temporary Works activities in line with regulations
- Oversee Section 278 works, including highways and infrastructure interfaces
- Ensure works are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards
- Liaise with subcontractors, local authorities, engineers, and project stakeholders
- Maintain site health & safety compliance and documentation
- Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and progress reporting
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of TWC procedures and Section 278 works
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification
- Temporary Works Coordinator qualification preferred
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to start immediately preferred
