We are recruiting a Senior Building Services Engineer to support the delivery of a long-term programme of routewide assets across HS2. The project covers nine reinforced-concrete buildings, including tunnel shafts, portal buildings and pumping stations. The technical scope includes HV/LV power, ventilation, smoke control, BMS/SCADA, communications, fire systems, lighting, public health, lifts and architectural fit-out.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate multidisciplinary building-services packages
- Review mechanical and electrical designs and contractor submissions
- Manage interfaces between services, structures and architectural elements
- Support procurement and technical approvals
- Provide engineering input during site installation
- Respond to technical queries and proposed design changes
- Identify buildability and coordination risks
- Monitor quality and compliance
- Support testing, commissioning and integrated systems activities
- Liaise with subcontractors, designers and client representatives
- Assist with handover planning and completion documentation
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and delivery teams
We are looking for candidates with:
- Considerable building-services or MEP engineering experience
- A mechanical, electrical or multidisciplinary technical background
- Experience supporting design and construction delivery
- Strong knowledge of interfaces and service coordination
- Ability to review technical drawings and submissions
- Understanding of testing, commissioning and quality assurance
- Experience with a main contractor, consultant or MEP specialist
