Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented QHSE Engineer to support and manage Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental activities across the site. This role will ensure compliance with legal requirements, maintain robust management systems, and drive a positive safety and quality culture throughout the organisation.
Core Duties
- Maintain and enhance the organisation’s QHSE management systems, ensuring alignment with legal standards and relevant ISO frameworks
- Ensure the site meets all health, safety, and environmental legislative requirements
- Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, audits, and investigations following incidents or near misses
- Support continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives across production
- Prepare, update, and control QHSE documentation, policies, and records
- Deliver safety-related training, inductions, and toolbox talks to staff
- Act as a point of contact for QHSE matters, liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Track QHSE performance metrics, analyse trends, and present reports to senior leadership
Essential Criteria
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) or IOSH Managing Safely (or higher)
- Proven experience in a QHSE, HSE, or Quality Engineer position within a manufacturing setting
- Solid understanding of UK health & safety and environmental legislation
- Experience with ISO management systems (ISO 9001 essential; ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 advantageous)
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
