Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented QHSE Engineer to support and manage Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental activities across the site. This role will ensure compliance with legal requirements, maintain robust management systems, and drive a positive safety and quality culture throughout the organisation.

Core Duties

  • Maintain and enhance the organisation’s QHSE management systems, ensuring alignment with legal standards and relevant ISO frameworks
  • Ensure the site meets all health, safety, and environmental legislative requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, audits, and investigations following incidents or near misses
  • Support continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives across production
  • Prepare, update, and control QHSE documentation, policies, and records
  • Deliver safety-related training, inductions, and toolbox talks to staff
  • Act as a point of contact for QHSE matters, liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Track QHSE performance metrics, analyse trends, and present reports to senior leadership

Essential Criteria

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) or IOSH Managing Safely (or higher)
  • Proven experience in a QHSE, HSE, or Quality Engineer position within a manufacturing setting
  • Solid understanding of UK health & safety and environmental legislation
  • Experience with ISO management systems (ISO 9001 essential; ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 advantageous)
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
