Work in an inclusive primary school with around 450 children, including a specialist autism centre. The school was judged Good by Ofsted in 2024, with Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management, and Early Years all graded Outstanding.
Gain direct experience supporting pupils with SEMH, autism, speech and language needs, anxiety, emotional regulation and social communication. The school has a strong reputation for SEND provision, with specialist support for pupils with EHCPs through its autism resource base.
As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will provide 1:1 and small‑group support across the school day. The successful Mental Health Support Assistant will help pupils develop confidence, resilience, emotional awareness and positive learning behaviours.
Mental Health Support Assistant candidates must be calm, patient, emotionally intelligent and committed to safeguarding. You will work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, pastoral staff, families and external professionals.
Previous experience with children, SEND, mentoring, tutoring, youth work, care or mental health support is highly desirable.
