Job Purpose: To undertake a variety of manufacturing operations to produce pipes as part of seat assembly to the required quality standards and in accordance with work schedules. This includes hand fitting pipes to the relevant form blocks and digital measuring equipment, making necessary adjustments, cutting pipes using an electric saw, and setting and operating pipe bending machines according to specifications.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities:

  • Undertake tasks as defined under the direction of the Cell Leader.
  • Accurately interpret engineering drawings and work instructions/build plans.
  • Employ appropriate techniques as specified on job cards for specific components.
  • Ensure processes are carried out in accordance with laid down SOPs within the Department.
  • Achieve required quality standards and adhere to all relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Maintain productivity to ensure departmental effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Conduct self-inspection and quality checks in accordance with laid down standards and procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation of ongoing Lean Initiatives including 5S activities and Continuous Improvement programmes.
  • Monitor the fitness for purpose of tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good condition.
  • Handle materials, goods, and components carefully, complying with safety regulations.
  • Report any dangerous practices or faulty equipment to local supervision.
  • Undertake formal training relevant to the job and adopt modern practices.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
