Stock & Packaging Co‑ordinator

  • Reports to: Stock Control Manager
  • Absence cover: Stock Control Manager
  • Contract type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Weekly hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours a day Monday to Friday

Rowcliffe, part of the Lactalis Group, is a leading importer and distributor of fine foods.

As Stock & Packaging Co‑ordinator, you will be fully responsible and accountable for packaging, indirects and stock management, including order processing, correct product receipt, quality assessment, and continuous review of warehouse stocks.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage all packaging and sundries requirements for all areas.
  • Manage all external packaging environmental compliance (Valpak).
  • Place weekly/monthly Purchase Orders with suppliers, evaluating sales and forecast.
  • Process all PO paperwork related to Brexit e.g., IPAFF’s, Customs clearance (training given).
  • Book in deliveries on day of receipt. Immediately communicate any issues e.g., shortages, overs, date code issues to both supplier and stock control group.
  • Management and communication of at risk and short dated stock.
  • Build close relationships with suppliers to deliver optimum product availability.
  • Work collaboratively with the Warehouse, Goods‑In, Production, Accounts and Technical department.
  • Bi‑Weekly date check and manage short, dated area, including the sale of short/outdated products.
  • Coordinate monthly stocktakes of packaging and consumables.
  • Counting, recording of packaging and indirect stock.
  • Maintain packaging stock levels to current forecasts.
  • Create purchase orders and approve invoices for payment.
  • Coordinate packaging samples for NPD.
  • Support Accounts with data input to include posting customer.
  • Daily Key Accounts invoicing.

Required qualifications

  • Ideally from an FMCG industry with a proven experience of product management.
  • Previous stores or stock control experience advantageous.
  • Comfortable spending time in a chilled warehouse.
  • Very effective communicator to all levels and departments.
  • Strong team player.
  • Good general IT skills; knowledge of Dynamics GP or equivalent is a strong advantage.
  • Intermediate/strong Excel skills essential (knowledge of pivot tables, v-look ups etc).
  • Very strong numeracy skills, attention to detail.
