We are recruiting experienced Steel Fitters to join our team for several high-profile construction and architectural projects across London. The ideal candidate will have strong on-site experience in assembling, modifying, and installing structural or architectural steelwork, ensuring all components are precisely aligned and secured according to technical plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fit, position, and secure structural steel components, secondary steelwork, and architectural metalwork (such as staircases, balustrades, and handrails) on-site.
  • Read, interpret, and work accurately directly from engineering fabrications blueprints and site layout drawings.
  • Align, level, and plumb steel sections.
  • Carry out on-site modifications where necessary, including cutting, drilling, and grinding.
  • Perform basic tack welding and mechanical fixing to secure components before final welding or bolting.
  • Measure and check work carefully to ensure everything meets strict tolerances and structural specifications.
  • Strictly adhere to site health and safety regulations, including working at heights and handling heavy materials responsibly.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience working as a Steel Fitter on commercial or residential construction sites.
  • A valid CSCS Card (Skilled Worker card preferred).
  • Strong ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings and measurements.
  • Possession of your own standard hand tools (spanners, levels, squares, etc.) and full PPE.
  • Attention to detail, a strong commitment to team safety, can work separately and as part of a team.

Certifications (Desirable)

  • IPAF / PASMA tickets for working at heights.
  • Basic welding qualification (MIG/MMA) for on-site modifications.
