Role: We are recruiting Steel Fitter Mates to join our team for several high-profile construction and architectural projects across London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking individual to work alongside experienced Steel Fitters, assisting with the installation of structural and architectural steelwork while developing valuable hands-on trade skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist skilled Steel Fitters with the handling, positioning, and alignment of steel components, beams, and architectural metalwork.
  • Set up tools, lifting equipment, and materials at the work area, ensuring the fitters have everything required to complete the task.
  • Safely load, unload, and move steel sections and fixings around the construction site.
  • Safely use basic hand and power tools (such as grinders, drills, and magnetic drills) under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment by clearing debris and storing equipment properly.
  • Strictly follow site health and safety guidelines, especially when working at heights or around lifting operations.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Some experience working on construction sites as a steel fitter mate is highly desirable.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Able to follow instructions accurately, take precise measurements, and work well as part of a busy team.
  • Can use power tools.
  • A driving license or any basic safety tickets (like manual handling) is a plus.
  • Reliable, physically fit for heavy lifting, comfortable working at heights, and eager to learn the trade.
