Role Overview
As an ATR 72 Captain, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of scheduled commercial flights in accordance with company SOPs, regulatory requirements, and the highest standards of airmanship. You will act as Pilot-in-Command, demonstrating strong leadership, decision-making, and crew management skills while ensuring passenger safety and operational excellence at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Pilot-in-Command on ATR 72 commercial operations
- Ensure compliance with UK CAA regulations, company Operations Manual, and SOPs
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service
- Lead and manage flight crew, promoting effective CRM and threat & error management
- Conduct pre-flight planning, performance calculations, and fuel management
- Liaise with dispatch, engineering, and cabin crew to ensure smooth operations
- Report operational, technical, and safety-related issues in line with company procedures
- Represent the airline professionally at all times
Essential Requirements
- Valid UK CAA ATPL (or UK-issued ATPL(A))
- Current or recent ATR 72 Captain experience
- Valid ATR Type Rating
- Current Class 1 Medical
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Strong command of the English language (ICAO Level 4 or above)
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a commercial airline environment
- Ability to start at short notice preferred
Desirable Experience
- Recent multi-crew turboprop experience in commercial operations
- Strong understanding of UK domestic operations
- Proven safety record and excellent CRM skills
