About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organised Procurement Supervisor to join their dynamic procurement team. This is a pivotal role that supports the efficient operation of the procurement function, delivering transactional, analytical, and compliance-based support across the business. Working closely with the Head of Procurement, the successful candidate will help ensure procurement activities are aligned with best practices, regulatory standards, and company objectives. The role offers a structured pathway for professional development, in line with CIPS best practice, making it an ideal opportunity for candidates looking to advance their career in procurement. We are open to any candidates who have worked previously in any form of manufacturing environment and candidates who can step up into this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Transactional Procurement Support
- Raise, process, and manage purchase orders in line with company policy
- Support the administration of tender documentation and tender processes
- Coordinate supplier onboarding and maintain accurate supplier records
- Manage day-to-day supplier queries for non-critical categories
- Reporting & Analytics
- Collect, analyse, and interpret procurement data (e.g., spend, savings, supplier performance)
- Prepare reports and dashboards for management and key stakeholders
- Assist in spend analysis and cost-saving initiatives
- Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., BRC, ESG, procurement policy)
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation
- Assist with contract administration and document control
- Tender & Supplier Management Support
- Support the Head of Procurement in managing tender processes and supplier evaluations
- Monitor supplier performance and assist with non-conformance management
- Act as a point of contact for suppliers, escalating issues as required
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and eliminate inefficiencies
- Assist in the implementation of new procurement tools and systems
- Contribute to procurement-led projects and cross-functional initiatives

Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Previous experience in a procurement, supply chain, or administrative support role
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with procurement or ERP systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Desirable:
- Progress toward or interest in CIPS qualifications.
- Experience within a manufacturing sector.
- Understanding of procurement best practice, tendering, and supplier management.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting.
